Texas-New Design Review: Exactly as Described
The new Texas ID design is a monster to replicate. It has so many overlapping security features, intricate patterns, and a very specific "feel." I was skeptical when I ordered the "Texas-New" version from this vendor, but I am happy to report that it is exactly as described and looks phenomenal.
The most impressive part is the "three-dimensional" feel of some of the background elements. The way the state outline interacts with the text and the secondary photo is very complex, and this vendor managed to get all the layers in the right order. The OVI (Optically Variable Ink) in the corner shifts from gold to green perfectly, which is a major security feature for this state.
Key Observations on the Texas-New ID
- Detailed Micro-printing: The tiny text that makes up the lines on the card is actually readable under a microscope.
- Solid Scannability: Both the 1D and 2D barcodes on the back scan perfectly, returning all the correct data in the proper format.
- Ghost Image Accuracy: The ghost image has the correct level of transparency and isn’t too dark or too light.
The shipping was quick, and the vendor was very professional throughout the transaction. They even provided a "pre-print" preview of my data to make sure everything was spelled correctly before they went to production. This extra step really helps avoid mistakes and shows they care about the final product.
If you’re looking for a Texas ID, don’t settle for the old design. The new one is much more common now, and this vendor is doing an incredible job of replicating it. It’s a high-quality, professional-grade prop that is exactly as advertised. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
