Discussion: Addressing More Discreet Packaging Questions

We all know that discretion is the name of the game when it comes to shipping novelty IDs. I’ve seen some more questions lately about what "discreet" actually means in practice. What does the envelope look like? Is there a return address? Does it require a signature? These are the details that matter for privacy-conscious buyers.

In my experience, professional vendors use very mundane packaging. Think standard business envelopes, small padded mailers, or even "junk mail" looking packages. There is never any mention of the vendor’s name or the contents on the outside. Usually, the return address is just a generic office or a fulfillment center.

What to Look for in Discreet Shipping

  • No Suspect Labeling: No "ID," "Card," or "Novelty" anywhere on the label.
  • Mundane Packaging: The package should look like a thousand other things moving through the mail every day.
  • No Signature Required (Usually): Most vendors prefer to drop the package in a mailbox or leave it at a door to avoid unnecessary interaction with the courier.

I’ve had packages arrive looking like everything from a bank statement to a small jewelry order. The goal is to make it as boring as possible so it doesn’t attract any attention. What have your recent experiences been? Have you encountered any packaging that was particularly clever (or not discreet enough)? Let’s share our observations and help everyone know what to expect.
