Discussion: More Questions on the Duplicate Order Process

Building on our previous discussions about duplicate orders, I wanted to address some of the more "specific" questions about the actual process. We know that it’s cheaper and handled in the same batch, but what about the actual "check out" process? Is it just a button, or do you need to provide extra info? And what happens if only one card in your "duplicate" order is defective?

In most cases, a duplicate order is as simple as clicking a checkbox on the order page. Since it uses the same data and photo as your primary card, there is no extra work for you. The vendor’s system just adds a second "print" to your order file. It’s a very streamlined process.

What to Consider with Your Duplicate Order

  • Defect Policy: If one card is defective, a reputable vendor should replace it just like a single order. Make sure you check their policy on "partial" replacements.
  • Discounted Value: Remember that you are paying for a *copy* of exactly the same card. If you want a second card with a different address or photo, that is a separate order, not a duplicate.
  • Batch Consistency: The biggest benefit of a duplicate is that both cards will have identical color matching and holographic alignment, as they are printed at the same time.

I always suggest ordering a duplicate if you can afford it. It’s a small price to pay for the peace of mind of having a backup prop ready to go. What are your thoughts? Have any of you had a situation where you were glad (or wished) you had ordered a duplicate? Let’s share our experiences and help everyone make the right choice.
