Discussion: Is a Duplicate Order Actually Possible and How Does it Work?
We’ve had some discussions about duplicate orders before, but I wanted to start a fresh thread to clear up some confusion about how the process actually works. Is it just as simple as checking a box, or are there hidden pitfalls we should be aware of? And most importantly, do vendors actually deliver an identical copy, or is there a drop in quality for the second card?
In my experience, a "duplicate" order is handled in the same batch as your primary card. This means they use the same paper, the same ink, and the same lamination settings for both. The result should be two cards that are virtually indistinguishable from each other. This is why it’s always better to order your duplicate at the same time as your original.
What to Expect with Your Duplicate Order
- Identical Quality: Both cards should undergo the same quality control checks. If one is good, the other should be too.
- Discounted Price: You are essentially paying for the extra materials and a small amount of extra labor, which is why a duplicate is usually much cheaper than a single ID.
- Batch Consistency: Ordering them together ensures that the color matching and holographic alignment are identical across both cards.
I’ve ordered duplicates three times now, and each time they have been perfect copies of the original. It’s a great way to have a backup prop ready to go in case of an accident. Have any of you had a different experience? Is there anything we should double-check before hitting that "add duplicate" button? Let’s share our experiences and help everyone make the right choice.
