Discussion: More on the Multi-State Pack Strategy
Following up on our earlier discussion about ordering from multiple states at once, I wanted to dive into how to manage the data requirements for a "multi-pack." We know it saves money, but how do you stay organized when you’re providing different addresses and potentially different photos for two or three different states? Let’s talk about "multi-state" organization.
The key is to keep a separate file for each state you’re ordering. Clearly label your photos (e.g., "FirstName_LastName_Oregon.jpg" and "FirstName_LastName_Utah.jpg") and make sure your address data is perfectly formatted for each jurisdiction. Most vendors who offer multi-packs will have a clear system for you to submit this info—use it!
Top Tips for a Successful Multi-State Order
- Stay Organized: Don’t try to do it all at once. Work on one state at a time and double-check all your data before moving to the next.
- Compare the Templates: One of the best parts of a multi-pack is seeing how the vendor’s quality varies across different states. Use this as a learning opportunity for your next order.
- Check for Consistency: Even though you’re getting different states, the card stock and lamination quality should be consistent across all of them.
I recently ordered a "Southwest" pack (Arizona and New Mexico) and was very impressed with both. It was a great way to compare the different security features side-by-side and find out which state the vendor "specialized" in. What are your thoughts? Have you tried a multi-state order lately? Let’s keep sharing our "bundle" expertise!
