Novelty ID Card Canada Review: Ontario (ON) "Trillium Shift" and Quality
I recently added a new Ontario (ON) novelty ID to my collection, and I wanted to focus on one of its most impressive security features: the "Trillium shift." Ontario has a very complex design that includes a color-shifting Trillium flower and several overlapping elements. This vendor did an incredible job of replicating this feature with perfect clarity. Best quality I’ve seen!
The color shift is smooth and very realistic. It moves from a soft pink to a bright green as you tilt the card, which is an exact match for the official Ontario palette. The ink also has the correct "raised" texture, which you can feel with your finger. It’s a very professional-looking prop. Let’s talk about the details.
Why Ontario Trillium Accuracy is a Mark of Quality
- Correct Color Tones: Many vendors use a generic holographic sticker, but a pro shop uses real optically variable ink that matches the official Ontario shades.
- Perfect Alignment: The Trillium flower is perfectly centered and doesn’t overlap with any of the printed background patterns, showing a very high-end production process.
- Consistent Reaction: The color shift effect should be consistent across the entire feature. Any "dead spots" are a sign of a poor production process.
I always recommend checking the Trillium features under a single, bright point of light. A high-quality Ontario card will look incredible, showing the complex interplay between light and color shift. What are your recent observations? Have you found any vendors who are particularly great at these advanced Ontario features? Let’s share our "Trillium-watching" findings!
