Discussion: How Does the Reorder Process Work?
We’ve all been there—you loved your first card so much that you want another one, or maybe you just need an updated version with a new address. But how does the reorder process actually work? Do you have to go through the whole "photo and signature" upload again, or do vendors keep your data on file?
Most professional vendors keep your data for a limited time (usually 30-90 days) for exactly this reason. This makes reordering much faster and easier. However, for privacy and security reasons, many vendors will purge their databases periodically, so don’t expect them to have your info from two years ago.
Tips for a Smooth Reorder
- Save Your Order Number: This is the most important piece of info. Most vendors can look up your entire profile just with that number.
- Check for Updates: Before you hit "reorder," check if the state has updated its design. You might want to get the latest version instead of a carbon copy of your old one.
- Update Your Photo: If it’s been a while, consider uploading a new photo. A fresh look is always better for an updated ID.
Some vendors even offer a discount for returning customers, so it’s always worth checking your email for any "loyalty" codes. What’s your experience with reordering? Which vendors make it the easiest? I’ve heard good things about the "one-click reorder" system that some of the bigger shops are using now.
