One of the most stressful parts of ordering a novelty ID is the wait between payment and delivery. Naturally, everyone wants to know exactly where their package is at all times. I’ve seen a lot of questions lately about tracking information availability—when you should expect it, how it works, and what to do if it stops updating.
Most professional vendors provide tracking information as soon as the item is handed over to the courier. However, keep in mind that "shipping" often happens in stages. The package might first go to a domestic consolidator before being shipped internationally, and tracking might not start until it reaches that first hub.
What to Expect with Your Tracking Number
- Wait Time: It usually takes 3-5 days after production is complete for a tracking number to be generated and shared with you.
- Updates: International tracking can be slow. It’s not uncommon for a package to go "dark" for a few days while it is in transit between countries or clearing customs.
- Discretion: Remember that vendors often use discreet shipping methods, so the "from" address on the tracking info might be a generic fulfillment center rather than the vendor themselves.
